FAQs

Do I need a referral from my GP?

If you are paying privately than there is no need to have a referral from your GP. As Chartered Physiotherapists, we are qualified to confidently diagnose neuro/musculoskeletal conditions. If a private medical company is paying for your treatment, most will require a referral from your GP. Please check before you attend for your appointment.

Can you bill my insurance company directly?

We are registered with most major private medical companies. We currently only bill BUPA directly. For all other medical companies, we request that you pay and claim the costs back from them directly.

If you are a BUPA member, please bring your MEMBERSHIP and AUTHORISATION numbers to your first appointment.

Medical companies and individuals have their own allowance. This may be a number of treatments allocated OR a limited sum of money. Please be aware of your personal allowance when claiming through a private medical company.

Can I pay with a credit card?

We accept all major credit cards (except for Amex), cheques, cash and BACS payments.

Is there a waiting list?

Under normal circumstances we would be able to see you within 24-48 hours. If we have reduced capacity for any reason (staff illness or holiday periods) we do run a waiting list so if cancellations occur we can see you as quickly as possible.

Does my child have to be accompanied if they are having treatment?

We require all under 16s to be accompanied by an adult when they come for treatment. We will require a signature from the guardian prior to starting treatment.

Can I have a chaperone?

We want you to feel safe and secure during your visit to our clinic and so any patient is welcome to be accompanied in their treatment. If you attend alone but would still like a chaperone, please request this to the receptionist when booking your appointment.

How do I know if my Physiotherapist is fully qualified?

All the physiotherapists at Banstead Physio & Therapies are fully qualified. This is represented by the letters CSP (Chartered Society of Physiotherapy) and HPC (Health Professions Council) after their names. Certificates are displayed in the clinic and can be checked online with these governing bodies.
